Young Aussies Win Big for Trip of a Lifetime!
On Tuesday 20th July, two young Aussies had their dreams come true on Deal or No Deal.
Friends Dee and Laura had just bought their tickets to Europe. With a million plans in mind and significantly less than that in their bank accounts, they resolved themselves to a long period of savings and a culling of their plans.
And then they entered the Deal-A-Drome…
“First of all, for two 22 year olds, walking out of the Deal-A-Drome with $20.40 or more would have been a bonus - we spent $10.20 each on our train tickets that morning,” recalls contestant Dee.
The girls managed to do a little better than that, however. In what seemed like a whirlwind, they ended up netting a cool $54,000 and an extra $500 for Laura’s correct case guess!
“It is so impossible to fathom that we have won $54,000!” exclaims Dee. “It still hasn't kicked in and we are guessing it probably won’t until we splurge in Paris or Prague or Rome. The entire train ride home we were just staring at each other saying "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED???????"
“When we initially applied for Deal or No Deal, we had already planned our Europtrip, in which we visit 13 Western European countries. We had hoped that if we were to play on Deal or No Deal, it would be before our departure date of August the 23rd and we would win a little extra cash for our trip. What we got was so much more than we could have imagined. [We will no longer have to] stay at dingy hostels, with broken security lockers and questionable hygiene!” says Dee.
“Now we can do all that we wish we could have done on our journey that has been 8 years in the making.”
